Sabine’s Art Statement:
I was born and grew up in the province of Rhineland-Palatinate/Germany. Even then, drawing and painting were my favorite pastimes. My dream was to study art. “You’ll become another starving artist,” said the school career advisor. So I learned something “decent”. Art remained my hobby for many years. Later, I devoted myself completely to my family and my job. There was little time for art. Until the Corona Lockdown 2020. With the uncertainty of the pandemic and with suddenly a lot of time, I found my way back to my original creativity. Due to a lack of art materials during the lockdown, I began experimenting with various collage materials from our household and paints from my son’s school supplies. Initial results were well received by family and friends, so I presented myself to the public for the first time in late 2020. In spring 2022, a solo exhibition followed in Gerlingen near Stuttgart/Germany with great sales success. Professionally, I traveled a lot in the hotel industry and later as an event manager in an international agency. The impressions from my assignments abroad and the many private journeys still have a lasting influence on my art. The “Places” collection combines my travel memories with my passion for solid colors.
