ABOUT LEE TROY:
Captivated by animation at an early age, Lee Troy Waller could rarely be found without pencil and paper in hand, bringing to life the world of this imagination. From ghouly creatures to angelic beings, he painstakingly added detail evoking both visual perception and emotion.
Through the years, his work has been influenced by several artists, but he attributes the greatest influence of all to life experiences. ” I taken an unconventional approach to painting” states the artist. ” Having Experienced both good and evil in my lifetime, I look at things with deep spiritual insight. Living in a world of opposing forces I strive to find balance between the two.”
The series before you is a response to that call. Opposing forces sometimes represented by the use of complimentary colors to create visual tension, is balanced by simplicity in line and form, Each shape carries its own personality, yet there is a dialogue presented throughout the entire piece. This unspoken language is conveyed to the viewer by the artists, but allows for each individual to ” complete” the message in his or her own understanding.
The artist’s inspiration is derived from those he comes in contact with on a daily basis. Ever evolving to define his own style, he experiments with new ideas and techniques regularly, and will be introducing a new line of abstract landscapes in the near future.
