Katherine Howard Marull

“If you truly love nature you will find beauty everywhere” Vincent Van Gogh

Katherine Howard Marull was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1991. She grew up in an adventurous artistic family, surrounded by Caribbean beaches and traveling to jungles and islands as a kid. She comes from 4 generations of painters, and other than a few art workshops most of her abilities are self taught.

As long as Katherine can remember, she has been painting in some form or another. As a six-year old she has memories of painting the wildlife and the nature typical of her country. Later she went to college to study Social Communication, where she developed an interest for journalism and writing. At 21, Katherine moved to Barcelona Spain due to the economic crisis that settled in Venezuela. Living in Europe was an eye opening experience for her as well as an inspiring and multicultural exposure which made Katherine aware of her ever growing passion for art as a form of self-expression and the beginning of her journey as painter. Currently lives in San Francisco, CA, where she recently got her own studio.

Katherine finds her inspiration in femininity, the expressions of characters, moods and sounds through colors and textures, the storytelling behind rapid brushes on a big abstract piece or soft delicate ones in a female face. She enjoys playing with different styles  and mediums.
